Timeline, the Tumblr-of-your-life feature that will soon be the foundation of all Facebook profiles, has already been available to developers. However, a full public launch could be some ways away, with Chicago-based company Timelines.com seeking legal action to protect its business.

FB has actually been the one to voluntarily delay the launch, as a judge declined Timelines.com’s request to prevent further expansion—the judge is instead opting to wait and see how developers use the feature before ruling on an injunction.

Even if the judge rules against Zuckerberg and co., it should only stand to be another “speeding ticket.” After all, Zuckerberg has already shown he can afford to pay a few of those.
