On a conference call yesterday Google announced that it's signing up a whopping 550,000 new users every single day for Android devices including phones and tablets. That's quite a bit more than the 325, 000 Apple reported during its last earnings call.
As always is the case when it comes to iOS and Android comparisons, it should be noted that there are a great deal more Android devices than there are those that run Apple's software. Rumors that Apple will expand the iPhone line up with a cheaper model have persisted since March. The company has its own earnings call scheduled for tomorrow.
