With a list of lovers longer than Tony Stark’s bar tab, Wolverine is like the Wilt Chamberlain of the Marvel Universe. But legendary virility comes with a price. Enter Daken, the son of Wolverine. Daken has been out to kill Wolverine ever since he was introduced into the Marvel Universe in 2007 and he has also been the star of his own solo book, Daken: Dark Wolverine, since last year. Now that book is getting a facelift in the form of writer Rob Williams. Williams is a writer set to break out in a big way having worked on the critically acclaimed Cla$$war, multiple Star Wars comics, and PunisherMax: Get Castle.

Starting with Daken: Dark Wolverine #9.1, an issue of Marvel’s "Point One" initiative, Williams will take over the book and tell the tale of Daken attempting to take over the Los Angeles crime scene.

“I’m so excited to have Rob Williams coming on board Dark Wolverine," says editor Jeanine Schafer. "His sharp ear and sardonic wit, combined with his knack for twisty, noir-inspired plots are the perfect combo for Daken to take full advantage of. We’re ramping up for a blow-out year—Daken has his sights set on a new status as a true kingpin, pulling all the strings, and stopping at nothing to get what he wants. Lots of gorgeous men and women, double-crosses and the constant threat of going over the edge. What more could you ask for in a great noir?”

Daken: Dark Wolverine #9.1 hits shelves April 27.
