You would think that it's easy enough to make a good mindless action movie, but apparently not, because it's one of the most hit or miss genres out there. The line between corny and awesome is extremely thin and most filmmakers don't tread it too carefully.
With that said, we hope newcomer Scott Mann knows what he's doing and The Tournament falls into the latter category because the flick looks like it has some potential. Battle royale between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins? Hot Asian chick? Priests bucking shots? Yeah, we're interested, but that's always the initial story with these types of movies. Don't screw it up.
