T-Pain took to Instagram this weekend to call out an impersonator using his name to send emails in an effort to scam people out of money.

The artist shared a screenshot of one such message, which contains several grammatical errors and claims “NAPPY BOY ENTERTAINMENT” is offering “marketing /Distribution publishing deals” in exchange for “a small fee of $300.”

“Hello my name is T-pain,” the bogus email begins. “I handle all business proposals and inquiries for NAPPY BOY ENTERTAINMENT as the EVP&head of A&R. Our A&R reviewed over all your music content and we definitely think you have potential reach the next level of your career!” The scammer goes on to say they offer special services “from graphics designs to professional materials.”

In his Instagram caption exposing the scam, T-Pain wrote, “These boys out here actin UP!! 😂 GAAAAAHHHDAAAAAMN!” T-Pain captioned the post. “If you get this email pls don’t be stupid. And if you fell for it already…….. Y’all know that ain’t me.”

He added, “And broski who sendin that shit out...come on son. Chill bro. ‘Hello my name is T-Pain’ head ass 😂 Chill bro.”

The would-be scammer went on to write, “There is a small fee of $300 for this to take place which will state the offer was unsolicited. We are located in Tallahassee, Florida. Should you take the deal, your deposit fee will be refunded back. If you’re interested please inform us now so we may proceed and we will proceed with other vital informations and what payment method do you use?”

T-Pain’s recent musical appearances include Denzel Curry’s Melt My Eyez See Your Future album on “Troubles,” plus Buddy’s Superghetto LP on “Happy Hour.”
