The music releases are starting to slow down a little after a busy start to the year, but there are still some new drops worth listening to. 2 Chainz tapped Moneybagg Yo and BeatKing for his new twerk anthem “Pop Music.” YoungBoy Never Broke Again just released his new project Colors, featuring the Internet Money-assisted track “Flossin.” And Big K.R.I.T. is back with his smooth single “So Cool.” Shenseea, Key Glock, and Rod Wave also came through with new music.

On the danceable track, BeatKing delivers a fiery and twerkable chorus, while 2 Chainz lays down a bouncy verse with Southern flair. Moneybagg Yo also feels right at home on the track, spitting, “I’m big bad Mr. Money, want profit only/ Say she just like dance, but as she twerkin’, she a stripper lowkey.”  “Pop Music” is a single from 2 Chainz’s forthcoming album Dope Don’t Sell Itself

“Flossin” is a melodic and soothing record anchored in piano keys that finds YoungBoy Never Broke Again singing his heart out about relationships, drugs, and his enemies. “Scarred from love, on these drugs, got my world cloudy/ I was hiding in my big home, don’t know how they found me,” he spits. On the second verse, YoungBoy delivers a more dizzying flow as he discusses his weaponry and lethal tendencies. “Flossin” is a collaboration with Internet Money that appears on YoungBoy’s new tape Colors.

“Proud” is a sentimental record where Key Glock reminisces on his friend Young Dolph, who was killed on Nov. 17, 2021. On the track, Key Glock discusses the affect that Young Dolph’s murder had on him. “I lost my dog, I lost my mind, no lie, I’m really lost inside,” he raps. As the song progresses, he also touches on the “dark clouds” he has over him and how his mental health has continued to spiral, using alcohol and other vices to numb the pain. “Lately, I been talkin’ to the reaper, I can’t shut him out/I been prayin’ on my knees but don’t feel like it’s working out,” he raps. The outro includes a recording from Young Dolph. “Proud” appears on Key Glock and Paper Route Empire’s tribute album, Long Live Young Dolph

“So Cool” is a smooth and funky new record from Big K.R.I.T. Produced by the Mississippi rapper himself, K.R.I.T. is on a mission to get more money and material items. “Tryna get millis/ Get a bigger house, view so vivid/ A couple cars, a garage, chrome wheelin’,” he spits. It’s a short track that only runs for under two minutes, but it’s a feel-good single that would serve as the perfect soundtrack to a summer drive.

“Lick” is a raunchy track that unites Jamaica’s rising star Shenseea with Megan Thee Stallion. On the  track, Shenseea delivers a provocative chorus, instructing her lover what to do with their tongue. Her verse is equally raunchy, singing, “Lick it well fast but not too much (Lick it, baby)/ Big swig like from a sippy cup.” Megan Thee Stallion matches Shenseea’s seductive energy. “He addicted like it got a little crack in it/ Suck it like a crab leg, I’m crackin’ it/ Take it out, catch your breath, get back in it,” Meg spits. “Lick” will appear on Shenseea’s debut album, Alpha, which is due March 11.

Rod Wave is back. “Cold December” is a soothing track with country influence. Over a sample of Hank Williams Jr.’s 1979 single, “O.D’d,” Rod Wave is a hopeless romantic as he reflects on the women he has loved in his life. Each woman took up a special place in his heart and he cherishes their love for different reasons. “I need you all each and everyday, if i can’t then I’ll fade/ And I don’t mean to rush, but i easily fall in love,” he sings. “Cold December” is a lovesick song that is suspected to appear on Rod Wave’s next project.
