Southern Comfort Mardi Gras

Late last year, we brought you news of Southern Comfort’s collaboration with New Orleans-based artist Brandon ‘BMIKE’ Odums and London-based artist Jade Pearl to create a limited edition Mardi Gras-themed bottle, which is now available in stores.

As we move into 2022, Southern Comfort are ready with the first party of the year and the next phase in their ongoing plans to bring the spirit of NOLA over to LDN. Throughout February, Southern Comfort are celebrating Mardi Gras in a series of celebrations building up to a massive party on Saturday February 26 at London’s Leake Street with Cirque Du Soul.

Next month’s party is guaranteed to be a vibrant, colourful celebration, but the real spirit of New Orleans and Mardi Gras is all about bringing people together. Immersing party-goers in the spirit of the Louisiana city, there’ll be dancing parades, performances and DJ sets from chart-topper Ewan McVicar, up-and-coming talent Jaguar, plus London-based Weaver Bros.

Mixing the two cities together, there’ll also be a range of Southern Comfort cocktails and slushes, including the Southern Passion, as well as food from local London brand Poor Boys. An independent restaurant brand founded by two brothers right here in the capital, it was the food and drink of South Louisiana that inspired them to set up shop in the first place so it’s only right they be there on the night to offer up their take on the New Orleans’ classic ‘Po Boy’ sandwich.

Naturally, you’ll have to get dressed up for the occasion, but if you need a little help in that department, makeup artists from beauty brand In Your Dreams will be on hand on the night to give partygoers the bold splashes of colour needed to celebrate Mardi Gras properly. To give you an idea of what’s in store, their last party featured pyrotechnics, acrobatics, costumed dancers, and an elaborate set design that was somewhere between circus big top, haunted house and carnival street party.
