We've heard quite a bit from Louis Mattrs this year. He left a serious impression after featuring on SG Lewis' "No Less" before blessing us with "Superman" a couple of months later. Now he's ready to release his Slow Waves EP (out Nov. 27) and we've got the whole thing for you right here. It begins with a heady mix of sweeping electronica and ethereal R&B on "WGW" and "Superman", continuing with The xx-esque melancholy of "Sweet Innocence" before picking things up slightly on "Young Gun (Oh My)" and concluding with the jazzy plea for forgiveness that is "Messed Up" (which features a stand-out vocal turn from LK Faith). The whole EP's really worth paying attention to, but we have to draw particular attention to "Young Gun (Oh My)" with its bursts of sonic colour and half-time funk. Just make sure you listen to this one in its entirety.
