Although Coronavirus has warped all concept of time, it was only a couple of months ago that radio regular Boardgame James and his Handsome Boys compatriot Moleskin dropped off their collaborative debut project And The Award Goes To (and an emotional mix for Complex Sessions to boot). Now he's back with a solo offering, also dropping via his own 1000 Doors label, and we've already got the first taste with the gloriously nostalgic "Swamp Thing".

An instrumental grime cut that'll send you flying back to the days of downloading mp3s from questionable sources, "Swamp Thing" and the Daydream EP it's taken from are dripping in choppy strings melodies, clicking drums and lurching bass lines. However, while it packs a nostalgic punch, it's more likely that the Final Fantasy VII samples and dramatic arrangement will have you hoping for an instrumental grime renaissance.
