Kevo Muney heads into 2020 with strong momentum.
The 19-year-old South Memphis rapper has created waves throughout the year, receiving co-signs from Gunna, Tay Keith, Kevin Gates, and Don Trip, as well as inking a deal with Atlantic Records. But Kevo insists he's just getting started. On Friday, the rising artist delivered his nine-track Baby G.O.A.T. mixtape along with the official video for "On God" featuring fellow Memphis native BlocBoy JB.
"My new project Baby G.O.A.T. was inspired by everything I was going through this past year. Signing a deal, losing my grandmother, turning 19, and gaining new experiences," Kevo told Complex, before touching on his BlocBoy collaboration. "'On God' came together one day me and Bloc were in the studio with my producer Track Boy. We cooked up the song and knew we had to shoot a dope video. Baby G.O.A.T. is just the beginning. Expect lots more new music coming 2020 and that’s On GOD."
You can check out the "On God" video above and stream Baby G.O.A.T. now on all major platforms. The project includes titles like "Crying Out Loud," "On and On," "Testimony," and "Always Talking to God" featuring Tay Keith. The tape has also generated a considerable amount of buzz because of its cover art, which shows an illustration of a goat giving birth to Kevo.
"I think the cover speaks for itself. I’m the baby goat so I wanted to show myself being born to the world," Kevo told Complex. "Plus, I wanted to have one of the most memorable mixtape covers ever. Shout out KD Designz for bringing my vision to life."
The man clearly has a good sense of humor.
