Ariana Grande has a busy few months ahead, but she insists she’s still making time for her first love, music.

Right now, the “We Can’t Be Friends” hitmaker is hard at work promoting Wicked: For Good — the second part of the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked. While fans look forward to hearing her versions of the iconic songs, they have grown worried that her recent acting projects may push back some of the music of her own.

In an interview with New York Times published on Wednesday, November 5, Grande revealed that she has no plans to stop making music.

“Of course, music will be in my life forever,” said Grande. “I have to say that for my fans who are reading this who are going to have a heart attack.”

Grande’s most recent album Eternal Sunshine dropped in 2024. It was her first album in over four years, given that her previously released Positions dropped in 2020. This marked the longest period in between albums since Grande dropped her debut Yours Truly in 2013.

Earlier this year, she dropped a deluxe edition of Eternal Sunshine called Brighter Days Ahead, which was accompanied by a short film. The film — which further displayed Grande’s visual storytelling and acting chops — won Video of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards and continued her streak as a force on-screen. Last year, she garnered much buzz for her role as Glinda in Wicked, and even earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Next year, she will star in Focker In-Law as a woman named Olivia. She is also set to appear in the upcoming 13th season of American Horror Story.

Fans of Grande’s music can also look forward to her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, which will mark her first tour in six years.

But in the meantime, Grande will soon return on-screen as Glinda in Wicked: For Good on Friday, Nov. 21.
