Elizabeth Warren has yet to endorse a presidential candidate, but Hillary Clinton has reportedly considered her as a potential Vice President. Donald Trump acknowledged the possibility in May by tweeting, "I hope corrupt Hillary Clinton chooses goofy Elizabeth Warren as her running mate. I will defeat them both." And now, according to Reuters, the Massachusetts senator plans to endorse Clinton in the near future and would reportedly consider serving as her running mate if the opportunity presented itself.
The expected endorsement comes as a bit of a surprise. Warren is an outspoken critic of Wall Street, which aligns her more with Bernie Sanders, and she's praised Sanders publicly in the past. She called him “a real champion of standing up for working families, taking on Wall Street" on MSNBC’s Morning Joe in April. But it looks like Sanders is likely out of the race, so Warren may align herself with Clinton instead.
Sources told Reuters that Warren has been in talks with Clinton's campaign for weeks now but hasn't officially discussed the possibility of running for Vice President. They say her primary goal is to unify the Democratic party to defeat Trump. Warren has been an outspoken opponent of Trump in recent months, calling him a "loser" in May and tweeting that the Democrats must unite to beat him on Sunday.
