Sir Mo Farah, one of the UK’s greatest athletes, has revealed that he was “trafficked” as a child and forced into domestic servitude for a London family.
The four-time Olympic champion had previously claimed he had left Somalia aged 8 to join his father, after his parents made the decision to send three of their six children to London.
However, in a new BBC One documentary, The Real Mo Farah, airing on Wednesday (June 13), the 39-year-old said that he was instead smuggled into London by a stranger under a false name after escaping war in Somalia.
