A family in Prince George, British Columbia was surprised to find a goat had taken shelter inside their home while they were on vacation in Mexico.

Last week, Tanya Mould returned home from a vacation in Mexico along with her family only to find out a goat had let itself in and had made the house its residence during the family’s trip, according to Global News. The goat had messed up their work shed.

“We got home and as we were unloading the car, I saw in the shop window [...] I could see an animal chewing on something,” Mould told Global News. “I went and opened the shop door and out comes this big goat. We had no idea what to do.”

The family quickly warmed up to the goat, naming it Gordo. They also allowed the animal to stay with them for an additional three days.

According to CBC News, a nearby goat farmer said that Gordo had been raised to be comfortable around humans.

Though Mould’s 10-year-old son campaigned to keep the goat as a pet, Mould herself wasn’t on board. Gordo left the house several days later to a farm run by an experienced owner.

The goat’s original owner has not been located yet, though the search is still on.
