It takes a special kind of person to rob a church and that's the only way to describe the mug shot above, which comes courtesy of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department in Louisiana.
22-year-old Brett Gonzales was charged with burglary of a religious building after police found the missing items that were stolen from the Little River United Pentecostal Church in his home, NOLA.com reports. Among the things stolen were a 32-inch flat screen television, a DVD player, surround-sound speakers and a portable stereo/ CD player. Detectives were able to return the items back to the church.
He would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for that pesky whistleblower who reached out to authorities which then led to his arrest. No word on who ratted him out but we’re pretty sure their name started with a "G" and ended with a "D." After being confronted by police, Gonzales did come clean about breaking one of the Ten Commandments.
No word yet on his punishment but we hope they don’t settle this the way they did in the Old Testament.
