With Ted Cruz approaching the home stretch in his bid for re-election for U.S. Senator of Texas against Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke, Donald Trump revealed plans for a “major rally” in support of Cruz.
Cruz’s willingness to have Trump in his corner is especially rich considering the verbal barbs that these two exchanged when they ran against one another for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016. Trump’s method of attacking Cruz came in the form of tweets that haven’t been deleted to this day. Now, USA Latinx is looking to expose those old tweets on billboards for the people of Texas to see.
In just one day, nearly 500 people surpassed the $6,000 goal on their GoFundMe page, backed by Antonio Arellano, as well as Claude Taylor and March for Our Lives co-founder and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student David Hogg.
With Trump still pulling in a high number of Republican support, Cruz is willing to overlook previous insults from The Donald where he called the Texas Senator "a sniveling coward," and claimed that his father conspired to kill John F. Kennedy. Spineless as ever, Cruz will allow himself to stand side-by-side with the person who stripped him of his dignity all for the sake of re-election. Sad!
