The longstanding rumor that the iPhone 7—one of possibly three new iPhones Apple will unveil this year—will not have a standard headphone jack is looking less like a rumor these days. A new leaked video posted on Tinhte.vh even claims to show the iPhone 7 lightning to 3.5 mm adapter that would allow users to use their old headphones even with the lightning port.

The author of the article which accompanied the video wrote the adapter that appears on video was found at the Foxconn factory in Vietnam where iPhone accessories, including the adapter seen in the video, are made. The adapter reportedly doesn't work with iOS9 but does with iOS10 beta. In the video the author tests with iOS9 and a message pops up saying the device doesn't support the adapter.

One of the problems users are already thinking about with this possible lightning adapter is whether or not the adapter would be included with the purchase of a phone or if Apple will force customers to buy it separately. Another problem would be the fact users would no longer be able to charge their phones and listen to music at the same time, should users stick with wired headphones thus needing the lightning port for the adapter.

Rumors that Apple was getting rid of the headphone jack date back to January this year and even before.

Recently 9to5 posted a leaked video it picked up from techtastic.nl which allegedly offered a look at the iPhone 7. In that video the phone doesn't have the 3.5 mm headphone jack but instead it appeared another speaker was added as Steve Hemmerstoffer reported in June with photos claiming to show the iPhone 7.

Last year Apple sold 13 million iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus units in its opening weekend. Will it match that number this year?
