Updated 1/4/19 12:17 EST: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is responding to her trolls in the best way. A conservative smear campaign tried to bring Cortez down by circulating a video of her doing The Breakfast Club dance on a rooftop in Boston with friends. The new congresswoman replied by posting a current video of her dancing, this time in front of her new congressional office. "I hear the GOP thinks women dancing are scandalous," she tweeted.

Right-wing trolls are obsessed with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Even before she secured a congressional win back in November, the democratic socialist has had to endure out-of-touch smear campaigns; The most recent attack is, perhaps, the most desperate yet. Earlier this week, a number of right-wing Twitter accounts posted a college video of Ocasio-Cortez that was intended to shame her.

So what was she doing in the "leaked" footage? Dancing adorably on the roof with her Boston University classmates. We know, Ocasio-Cortez can kiss her political career goodbye.

Some of the dirt the right wing has on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez so far:
- She lived in a house
- She wears clothes
- She attended high school
- She danced with her friends in a video once pic.twitter.com/MVCmxB9BFf

The viral clip was taken from a 2010 video in which Ocasio-Cortez and her friends recreate the library dance scene from The Breakfast Club. We see the congresswoman performing the choregraphy to Phoenix's 2009 hit "Lisztomania." Check it out below.

"I take no joy in this work, but as a conservative commentator it is my duty to find and publicize any and all videos or images of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez looking happy and doing things young people do. Especially any bathing suit ones, if you know of any."

As you can see, there's nothing at all scandalous about the original video, which supposedly showed Ocasio-Cortez acting like a "clueless nitwit." If by "clueless nitwit" they mean "a happy college student who is enjoying wholesome fun with her friends," then, OK, sure.

Shortly after the video surfaced, many people quickly came to congresswoman's defense; however, seeing as how the clip was nothing more than a stupid reach, supporters relied on sarcasm for their clapbacks.

how much of right-wing criticism of AOC is just them being unable to deal with being attracted to her? https://t.co/zUhuzSHfDd
