From Oct. 2 to Feb. 1, Pirelli HangarBicocca will be presenting a retrospective exhibition entitled "Light Time Tales" dedicated to vanguard and widely celebrated artist Joan Jonas. The exhibition, curated by Andrea Lissoni, will feature the largest collection of Jonas' work to date and include a new original piece made specially for HangarBicocca.

According to the press release, the retrospective will present works never before seen in Europe and will include a performance piece produced by Jason Moran which will allow "visitors an opportunity to experience Joan Jonas’s intense performing tension."

Jonas is one of the most acclaimed and respected artists on the scene right now. Having pioneered video, installation, and performance art in the 1960s and '70s she is considered "the highest authority in the history and theory of performance." Jonas' work explores themes of identity, body, representation, magic, and myth in addition to the medium of film itself. Jonas will be representing the US at next year's Biennale International Art Exhibition in Venice, Italy.

This historic exhibition is open to the public starting Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day at the Pirelli HangarBicocca Gallery in Milan, Italy.
