San Francisco-based photographer Angela May Chen has rediscovered the beauty of her city in its reflection. Her surreal series captures the cityscape in puddles of rainwater. By training her lens on the ground rather than the horizon, Chen transforms taken-for-granted architecture and landscapes into a fragmented, abstract, and sometimes disorienting experience. The symmetry created through the use of unusual angles is striking and infuses each image with wonder.
