It's that time of year again when we reflect on the good and the bad (but mostly the bad) events that happened over the past 12 months. Looking over the year of mixtape releases, unfortunately a lot of the 2013 covers fall into the bad category. We tested the waters back in July with The Worst Mixtape Covers of 2013 (So Far), but we had no idea just how terrible cover art could get.
By the end of the year, rappers were putting out shoddy Photoshop jobs, extremely bizarre graphics, and scribbles that look like they took under a minute to create. There are so many skilled artists and designers out there who are eager to work on cover graphics, so there is no reason why any of these atrocities should exist. Hopefully 2014 will be a turning point in mixtape cover art... but probably not. Here are The Worst Mixtape Covers of 2013.

The easy way out for some of these unknowns seems to be to take the artwork from one mixtape, repackage it with the number 2 on it, and feed it back to the people. Young Jeezy is a big time rapper, there is no reason why he should fall into that trap. What's worse is that the 2 is peaking out from behind the Earth like Chris Bosh photobombing D Wade.
