Cristina Vanko's Modern Day Snail Mail project challenges traditional tech design language, especially when it comes to text messaging. Instead of replying to text messages with a normal note, she responds with images of handwritten calligraphy.
Vanko started this project after she found her father's calligraphy pen. On her website, she says, "Basically, calligraphy is something that people just don't get enough of today...The harder you press down on the pen's nib, the thicker the line. When less pressure is given, the thinner the line."
Wouldn't it be nice if all text messages were as personal as this?
