In the center of Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, Ai Weiwei organized a larger reconfiguration of his Forever Bicycles installation as a part of the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche event this past weekend. The installation features an incredible 3,144 bikes, more than the artist has ever used, all stacked in a complex weave of shiny metal. At night the maze is lit by purple lights which intensify the already visually stunning piece. The number of possible perspectives is astronomical and visitors can spend hours (or "Forever") navigating the installation and enjoying its complexity.

The event also held screenings of Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry in the Toronto City Hall Council Chambers. While the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche only lasted the weekend, Weiwei's installation is an extended project and will remain until October 27 and you can see it 24 hours a day.
