In June we asked why French artist André Saraiva was posting fake concert posters around cities like New York, Los Angeles and Paris, and now we may have an answer. The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles has just announced that Saraiva's posters will be on show starting this month in a project called "André Saraiva: Dream Concerts."
For a while now Saraiva, also known as "Monsieur A," has been getting hopes up worldwide with posters that announce concerts featuring artists like Jay Z, Eminem, Kanye West, the Beastie Boys, and Phoenix. At second glance, pedestrians notice that there are misspelled words and vague, yearless dates. It is the ultimate troll, and now they will turn heads in the Broad Lobby walls at MOCA Grand Avenue. The installation begins August 8 and runs through October 7.
