It's May in New York City and that can only mean one thing: Sample sales. As your friends are saving up their precious $88 to buy one pair of chinos at the mall, you're running from downtown location to downtown location to stuff a duffle bag full of designer gear that you accrued for a fraction of retail price. We've already informed you on some the sample madness going down this week, but there's much more in-store. Get ready to line up and scrummage through piles of lowly-ticketed fashions; here are five NYC sample sales you should shop this week.

The News Showroom: Thursday, May 16 through Saturday, May 19, 495 Broadway

There's no shame if you can't afford White Mountaineering, Folk, or Common Projects. The brand's are expensive for a reason: yhey all make great clothes that are refreshingly simple. Also included at the sale are jeans from Cheap Monday ($10 a piece) and upcoming brand, Highland.

Theory: Now through Sunday, May 19, 139 5th Ave.

We don't really need to discuss why you need to hit up Theory's sale, but more so how good the savings are. $145 shirts will be $60, $600 sportcoats for $250, and $600 jackets for $200. If you want to look undercover cool this spring, shop this sale.

Aloha Rag: Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19, 545 Greenwich St.

We've highlighted Aloha Rag sample sales in the past and with good reason: The shop discounts garments from 3.1 Phillip Lim, Band of Outsiders, Alexander Wang, Adam Kimmel, and Saint Laurent Paris up to 85 percent off retail. The gear will still be pricey, but ultimately worth it in the end.

Want Agency: Today, May 16 458 Broome St.

This sale ends today, but if you're in the area, hurry to the Agency's Broome Street location. You'll score goods from Nudie, Maison Kitsuné, and Swims shoes for 50 percent off.

Joseph Abboud: Sunday, May 19 through Thursday, May 23, 317 W. 33rd St.

Need a suit? This is your sale. Joseph Abboud has come back and become one of America's most looked at options for menswear. The sale will feature the best of suits, blazers, tuxedos, trousers, and more.
