Photographer Hal is known for his nontraditional photography, but this series tops anything he's ever done before. Unsatisfied with the lighting in clubs, where he would try to photograph partying kids in Tokyo, he invited them back into his home to capture them in bathtubs.
He says, “I think of the bathroom as being one of the most private and intimate places in anyone’s home. This provoked a shyness in the models, and created a unique excitement and inspiration in the scene.”
The results are unique and document the fashion and attitude of this subculture in Tokyo.
