Out in LA, Luis Gispert's current exhibition, All Oyster, No Pearl, pins together sculpture and photography with seductive grace. His work confronts object hierarchy. You see a Hans Wegner chair intersected by a fake gold chain or another piece standing on 40oz bottles. In short, he creates things that defy standard definition. The results are humorous, challenging, and, it must be said, unquestionably successful.
