After much speculation, Paul Pogba is finally part of the adidas family.
The world's most in-demand footballer has joined the likes of Lionel Messi and Mesut Ozil as a banner athlete for the three stripes and his first boot release is a super-limited edition laceless ACE 16+ PURECONTROL.
The 22-year-old midfield powerhouse – who has already won three Serie A titles and been named in the FIFA World XI for 2015 – says he needed to join a brand that would allow him to express his other cultural interests:
“I love music, dance and fashion but my biggest passion is football and I needed a brand that would give me the space to express myself and explore new frontiers. In adidas I found a partner with the same goals as me.”
Pogba's first boot will only be worn by him and produced in small numbers.
This exclusive laceless ACE 16+ PURECONTROL silo has been coated in Pogba's favourite black and gold colours and every pair produced will be given exclusively to the player.
It features a matt black upper and gold sole plate, with the iconic three stripes also picked out in gold. The in-sole carries a special message that speaks to the heart of adidas’ partnership with Pogba: “I’m Here to Create”.
