An MP Mistook This 55-Year-Old Man in a Suit for Mario Balotelli

Unfortunately, Balotelli was actually at Liverpool's Melwood Training Ground.

We knew there was something not quite right about this morning's rumours reporting that Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli had switched Anfield for the House of Commons.

During a debate about the government's drug policy, Hexham MP Guy Opperman reported that Mario Balotelli had just taken a seat in the viewing gallery.

We imagine BBC Parliament viewing numbers fell off the edge of a cliff as soon as a reporter from the Liverpool Echo spoiled the fun.

It turns out the Balotelli lookalike is a 55-year-old Ken Hines, a dancer and stop and search campaigner.

We're not even sure Mario Balotelli could pull of both a blonde mohawk and a diamante-encrusted pink shirt.
