It has just been issue after issue this year for the Rutgers athletic program. It looked like new athletic director Julie Hermann was finally going to be a good look for the program. Her hiring signaled a new start for Rutgers and made her the first woman AD in the program's history (as well as one of the four who lead the 124 upper tier college football schools, according to ESPN).
She also was the subject of further scrutiny this weekend. She's accused of being volleyball's Mike Rice. It's been revealed that Hemann quit her volleyball head coaching job after her players filed a complaint letter saying she ruled through "humiliation, fear and emotional abuse."
One example of the instances is when she allegedly called the players "whores, alcoholics and learning disabled."
Hermann said, "I never heard any of this, never name-calling them or anything like that whatsoever. None of this is familiar to me." Regardless, this is yet another bruise to the Rutgers program.
