Clip of the Morning: Assistant Coach Punches Referee During Youth Football Game

On Saturday, referee Andrew Keigans was assaulted by an assistant coach of the West Park Saints after he called an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in response to a derogatory comment that was made towards the ref. As you can see in the video, the call wasn't well received and things escalated when a cheap shot was landed on the referee.

Ironically, the guy that landed the sucker punch was Dion Robinson, "a convicted felon who over the years has had more than a dozen arrests." In the 1980s, Robinson served time for robbery while also pleading no contest to cocaine delivery, indecent exposure and unlawful use of a false name since 2003. Sounds like the perfect guy to have around your kids during their formative years, right?

Sidebar: It's just been a bad year for football referees in general.
