On August 1, University of Wisconsin running back Montee Ballwas brutally assaulted as he walked down a street in Madison, Wisc. at about 2:15 a.m. Police called the assault an "unprovoked attack" and put out a search for a small group of men who gave Ball a concussion that night. Now, almost a full month after the attack, police say that they have three 21-year-old men in custody who have been charged with substantialbattery for their role in the beating. They are also saying that the attack may have been related to a fight that took place at a house party just a few days before Bell's beating, although Bell denies that he was involved in any altercations leading up to the attack. Stay tuned for more details about the case as it moves forward.
