What is art, and how do you really know it's art when you look at it? These are serious questions to consider when evaluating an art piece. When it comes to sneakers, how do you know if a sneaker is a custom, art, or just garbage?
EBay user ed713rod has listed a pair of Air Jordan VII, which he deems as art. He started the listing at $99.92 four days ago, and this a quick summary of the product's description:
SHOES ARE NOT TO BE WORN, THIS ART WILL LOOK AMAZING ANYONE WITH A SNEAKER ROOM. THE SHOES WERE MADE BY A REAL BRAND NEW PAIR OF CARDINAL 7S, SHE SHOES WERE TRANSFORMED INTO A AMAZING MONSTER. HAND MADE MY ME, USED THINGS I FOUND AROUND THE HOUSE, YOU'LL RECEIVE THIS ONE SHOE ONLY. ANY SNEAKER HEAD WILL LOVE THIS 1 OF 1 SHOE ART.
Thanks the high heavens that shoe isn't meant to be worn. Just in case you aren't interested in the fine art piece, the eBay user has other serious listings including Air Jordans and Nikes. It's reasonable to say the artist took this custom too far.
