It was just a little over 24 hours ago that Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Air Jordan XXX, and now Complex contributor Jacques Slade is getting a chance to pick the brains of the men behind the milestone sneaker.

Designers Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith joined Slade for one of the best "unboxings" we've seen yet. In the clip, the designers break down some of the finer points of the sneaker, including the similarities and differences between its predecessor, the Jordan XX9.

"It's actually not unusual to have some similarities from one year to the next," Hatfield says, reminding viewers that sneakerhead favorites like the Jordan III, IV, and V all had similar cushioning and midsole components. "We're trying to make a better basketball shoe. We felt like we already had the best tooling, so we really focused on the upper and the upper's actually quite different."
