Ninja Faces Backlash After Appearing to Use N-Word During 'Fortnite' Stream

During the clip, Ninja was rapping a few lines from a Logic song that contains zero instances of the word.

Ninja, who last made headlines thanks to a Fortnite session with Drake, is now facing backlash for appearing to use the word "n***a" during a livestream.

In a clip from a recent Twitch stream, Ninja is heard attempting to rap the opening lines to Logic's Bobby Tarantino II cut "44 More." As a refresher, here's how these lines go in the actual song:

Ayy, bitch, I've been goin' and goin' like the Energizer
I'm supplying the wood like Elijah
In the cut, smokin' on indica
Might fuck around and compartmentalize ya
They say, they say life is a bitch
And if that's the case then I'm finna surprise her

Zero instances of the n-word. However, as you'll hear in the clip below, Ninja fumbles his way through the lyrics before pausing around the indica mention and delivering this:

no

Note the expression on Nadeshot's face.

Ninja has not addressed the clip at the time of this writing, but other people certainly have:

We know how this goes though, Ninja about to get mad sponsorships from this. It's only up from here. God's plan

A quick perusal of Twitch's Community Guidelines shows that it's pretty unlikely any action will be taken against Ninja's account, given the nature of the clip in question and the fact that it went down on someone else's channel. Back in 2016, Ninja was handed a temporary suspension for sharing a person's address after they made a donation under a "racist name."

The clip is making the rounds on the same day Rolling Stone published an interview with the Twitch star. In it, Ninja recounts how he and Drake linked up for a Fortnite session (their original session was canceled because Drake was stuck in the studio) and discusses what he feels is his responsibility as someone with a platform. "A streamer doesn't understand the power they have," he said
