A 13-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of his 16-year-old cousin in Chicago after an argument over an Xbox console turned deadly.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the 16-year-old was shot in his sleep after an argument concerning the console. It’s still unclear where the boy got the gun.  

"The two boys had been arguing earlier about an Xbox, according to a police report. A fired 9mm cartridge was found in the teen’s bedroom and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered in the apartment."

There was no clarification given as to what model Xbox was being argued over. The 13-year-old will be charged with first degree murder as a juvenile.

No adults have been charged.
