It's only right that Menace II Society, the much darker South Central-set answer to John Singleton's Boyz N the Hood, was matched with a soundtrack seeped in hardcore West Coast hip-hop. Looking back on the album's tracklist, it's a venerable role call for the Golden State's most under-appreciated gangster MCs.

Naturally, MC Eiht, one of the movie's co-stars, is represented, with the emotive and powerful hit single "Streiht Up Menace," and his counterpart Spice 1 gets cold-blooded on the straight-faced gun ode "Nigga Gots No Heart." Also present are Ant Banks, Cold 187um, Kokane, and Da Lench Mob—if those names don't make you feel nostalgic, you've clearly never owned a Raiders cap.
