The love-hate relationship between Quint (Robert Shaw) and Jaws is never so apparent as when the salty old fisherman "helplessly" slides into the shark's eager mouth—despite a number of things to hook his hands or feet onto, and a slant that is so slight that it takes him approximately five minutes to reach his bloody end.
