Cinemagraphs are awesomely unique. Caught in the middle between photography and video, they’re essentially GIFs where only one part of the image moves. There isn’t any easy way to make them, as constructing GIFs can be a bit tricky, too. But a new iPhone app, the cleverly titled Cinemagram, simplifies the process greatly. Simply record a seconds-long video clip, then mask the area you want to move. And that’s it—the app exports the GIF into a public stream of cinemagraphs. At only $2, it’s a perfectly priced time-waster.
