It looks like TSA doesn't have a sense of humor.
After originally deciding to only discipline the Newark Airport screener who left an encouraging note after discovering a vibrator in Jill Filipovic's luggage last weekend, TSA has decided to fire the person. Although Filipovic was bothered by the note and intrusion, she doesn't see how firing the screener will solve the bigger issue.
After learning that the screener might be terminated, Filipovic addressed the situation via blog, saying that she "gets no satisfaction in hearing that someone may be in danger of losing their job over this." Filipovic reminded everyone that "intrustions of our civil liberties" are the real problems and hoped TSA would work on solving them rather than making knee-jerk reactions to bad press.
