DICE and Electronic Arts have announced that those gamers participating in the PC version of the Battlefield 3 open beta are in for a special treat this weekend. The PC version will be gaining a second map, one that was previously available in the closed beta test:  Caspian Border.

The Caspian Border map expands the gameplay options currently offered in the beta as it supports 64-players and features a slew of vehicles, including fighter jets. This will be many players first chance to see the game truly shine in all of its glory. Sorry console players, this map is only going to be available on the PC during the beta phase; it is not like you could support a full 64 players on your systems anyways, seeing as how both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions are capped at 32 players.

Game on PC players!
