Rising Brooklyn rapper J.I., formerly known as J.I. the Prince of NY, has recruited Lil Tjay for his introspective new song, "Hood Scars 2."

Over a somber beat, which combines a melancholic piano melody with skittering hi-hats, the two New York natives reflect on their respective beginnings. Utilizing the same production as the first "Hood Scars," which dropped late last year, the sequel arrives as J.I. continues to build upon his hype. To accompany the release of "Hood Scars 2," the pair also linked up for the video, which shows them both surrounded by friends and family as they deliver their verses around NYC.

"Working with TJ was dope," J.I. told Complex. "He's somebody a lot of fans wanted me to pair me up with so the collaboration was heavily anticipated." Watch the video for "Hood Scars 2" above and grab Hood Life Krisis Vol. 2 here
