Fredo Santana's Father Details the Devastating Moments After He Learned of His Son's Death

The father of the late Chicago rapper continues to mourn the loss of his son's tragic death.

The father of the late Chicago rapper Fredo Santana has spoken out in mourning to his son's friends and fans on social media. Santana's father, "Big Shug," has shared a series of Instagram posts that detailed the heartbreaking moments after learning of his 27-year-old son's untimely death.

He said the news of his son's death rattled his world so deeply that his wife had to help him stand from where he had collapsed on the floor. He also thanked family members and his "sons true friends in the industry" for their support in the wake of this tragedy, writing, "I did not know the magnitude of souls & hearts my son had reached until today."

Santana's father shared another post shortly after, in which he described having a conversation with God, asking if he could take one of his children's place after "being called home." The loss of a child is an unimaginable trauma for any parent, but it is especially saddening in instances such as this that seemed to happen suddenly and without warning. Santana's father admits "this pain won't go away," but hopefully he can find comfort in the support of his family and those in the rap community who will keep the memory of his son alive.
