Deadcrow, the Dutch producer who has primarily made his name as a leading light in the wave scene, is taking a slight diversion for his latest release, "#VERYRARE". Wave, as we're all abundantly aware by now, usually focuses around weightless, atmospheric electronics with elements of grime, trap and R&B thrown in for good measure. "#VERYRARE", however, largely eschews that in favour of a peak-time, percussive banger full of chrome synths and riotous claps. Whether this is a permanent change in direction for Deadcrow or just a chance for him to flex his creative muscles in new ways isn't clear, either way it's one hell of a banger.
