Chris Brown’s 28th birthday party probably didn’t go exactly as he hoped. Brown received a restraining order from his ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, as he exited the party Thursday night, according to TMZ.

The restraining order springs from death threats that Brown allegedly made to Tran, a 28-year-old model and actress. She was granted a temporary 100-yard restraining order from Brown in February.

In a February statement, Tran claimed Brown threatened to “take me out” and “shoot me.” She also said Brown was abusive throughout their relationship. She has said he punched her in the stomach and pushed her down stairs.

Initial attempts to serve Brown with the paperwork this spring failed.

The couple dated on and off for five years. Their relationship ended when she discovered that Brown had a daughter with Nia Guzman.

Brown has previously admitted he enjoys making his exes’ lives “miserable.”

Brown received the paperwork from a process server as he boarded a vehicle following his birthday party at Grooves Nightclub in Houston. TMZ has footage of him receiving it.

The hearing is slated for later in May.
