It's been a banner year for 19-year-old Brisbane wunderkind JOY., who dropped her striking single "Like Home" earlier this year, and only a couple of months later, busted a warning shot with the release of a surprise self-produced mixtape called Joy To The World.
Her Ode EP wowed audiences last year, reaching number one on the iTunes electronic charts. That string of success also led to the prodigious artist playing Listen Out across the country, and copping a co-sign from the Beats 1 god Zane Lowe. Now, she's decided to bless us with a brand new remix treatment from Melbourne's own LUCIANBLOMKAMP.
His dark, ambient sounds wash smoothly over JOY.'s precocious vocals, taking the bounce and knock of the original and channeling that energy into deep keys and shuffling percussion. As the shadowy chanteuse has been writing, producing and recording music in L.A., we can only assume there's more flames on the way – but in the meantime, check out the track for yourself above.
