In a new interview with ESPN, Lil Wayne compares his holdup of Tha Carter V, which he claims is behind held hostage by Cash Money Records labelhead, Birdman, to Chris Bosh's situation with the Miami Heat.

"It's interesting. It's interesting. It's a perfect example that you aren't bigger than the game. It's a perfect example of that," explained Wayne. "You're not bigger than the team, and once you're off the team, it’s not—we don't care. Once you're off the team, we don't care. We're still a team and we have to conduct ourselves as such, and we have to make the most for us. Reason being, I'm going through the same situation myself. So I know how it is."

Wayne is likely referring to his contentious relationship with Birdman. For his part, sources close to Birdman have claimed that Wayne is actually in possession of the physical recording of the album and is holding onto it for leverage in his ongoing $51 million suit against Birdman. "Everything I've done for them, they wouldn't be them without me. But I'm off the team, so it's, 'Screw him as long as we can, make sure we're going to screw him as much as we can, and when we can't no more, let’s see what happens to him.' That's what it looks like they're doing to Bosh, and I hope he make a comeback."

When pressed further by Michael Smith if Bosh is basically Tha Carter V, Wayne replied, "Let's not get too..." where the rest of what he said exactly was hard to make out.

11-time All-Star and two-time NBA champ Bosh is at odds with the Heat, where he's been since 2010, after a physical in September discovered blood clotting. The player has been adamant about returning, but the Heat team president, Pat Riley, has gone on record to say Bosh's career with the Heat is likely over.

Of course, it's an interesting comparison for Lil Wayne to make considering the two have a history. Back in 2013, Wayne claimed that he actually slept with Bosh's wife, which she denied. The whole thing went down about a week after Wayne claimed he had been kicked out of a Heat-Lakers game in Miami. We can only imagine what Bosh thinks about this comparison. Watch Lil Wayne lay it out in the video above with his comments about Bosh starting at the 18 minute mark.
