ScHoolboy Q's new album Blank Face LP dropped on Friday, and it has already been earning solid reviews from fans and critics alike. On Monday morning, he shared the third installment in his three-part short film miniseries. This one draws from his track, "Black THougHts," and finds Q caught in between street life and fatherhood. In the clip, Q is seen in a courtroom, getting reamed out by the prosecutor for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery. He sits in silence but is reminded that, if he talks, he could avoid serious jail time.
Meanwhile, a silent ScHoolboy Q reminisces on spending time with his daughter. While "Black THougHts" plays in the background, he envisions helping her get ready for school. Although things seem normal inside his stately home, it's later revealed that the house is surrounded by a prison fence, and the school bus that he's walking his daughter out to morphs into a prison bus.
The "Black THougHts" short comes on the heels of two other short film releases that preceded Blank Face LP. They gave some background to this short, showing Q getting caught up in street life with his friends before being apprehended by law enforcement. The previous installments featured the songs "By Any Means" and "Tookie Knows (Part 2)."
Blank Face LP is ScHoolboy Q's fourth studio album. It was supported by the singles "Groovy Tony" and "THat Part" f/ Kanye West. Right before the album's release, Q also dropped a "THat Part" remix featuring Black Hippie.
