ScHoolboy Q stopped by The Breakfast Club Friday to discuss his recently released Blank Face LP, but the conversation soon shifted to an extremely somber topic when the rapper confessed his very close friend was sentenced to 100 years in prison the same day the project dropped.

"He's the reason that I'm rapping about this lifestyle. He's the dude that put me on that set," Q told the hosts. "He was older, he was like my first big homie...I wouldn't have none of this content if it wasn't for him." On top of that, his daughter recently broke her arm, which he said is another reason he hasn't been able to enjoy this moment as much as possible.

He also clarified his feelings about his "Overtime" record, which he initially explained he didn't like until he got Miguel and Justine Skye on the track. Unfortunately, an earlier statement of his got taken out of context during his listening session when he said, "It's a bootleg ass studio song. They made me put it on the album," and he didn't get to clear up the comment until now.

Q covered a lot of ground, but the conversation later shifted to lighter topics. Of course, everyone had to bring up the internet's obsession thinking that he used the Michael Jordan crying meme for the album's art, even though Q admits the picture was supposed to just be the first of many blank faces and that his fans trolled themselves with the whole thing. The state of rap today, Q's lack of bucket hats, and more also come up. Watch the whole video above.
