Michael Jackson’s 1979 masterpiece Off the Wall is being reissued with Spike Lee's new documentary, Michael Jackson's Journey From Motown to Off The Wall, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The documentary will detail the making of the historic album and Michael's rise to fame through archival footage, interviews with contemporary talents and family members, and Michael’s own words. As a very passionate MJ fan, Lee has directed movies about the music icon in the past, including 2012's Bad 25 on the album's 25th anniversary. He also has frequently hosted block parties in Brooklyn in honor of the late singer.

Lee's new documentary will make it's world premiere Jan. 24 at this year's Sundance Film Festival. It will follow with its TV debut on Showtime Feb. 5. Jackson's estate and Sony Legacy Recordings are planning to release a package that includes the documentary and the original album in CD/DVD and CD/Blu Ray editions on Feb. 26.
